NICU Music Therapy training: "Rhythm, Breath and Lullaby"

The Music Therapy department of ArtEZ organizes a threedays NICU training 'Rhythm, Breath and Lullaby'  tier 1.

Saturday 15 upto Monday 17 February 2020 from 9.00 - 18.00 hrs, at the ArtEZ Academy of Music Enschede. 

The First Sounds training is music psychotherapy-based. Participants will be training with an integrative, medical, music therapy team that will lead experiential, hands-on interventions. Using essential elements Rhythm, Breath and Lullaby kit, we will meet Tier I competency for this international, evidence-based, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit training inclusive of three prongs: environmental music therapy, trauma training in music psychotherapy with care givers, and evidence-based live music therapy interventions for premature infants. 

The follow-up courses Tier II and Tier III will also be offered at a later stage.

Participants will receive a certificate for the training.
Registration with the SRVB/NVvMT is requested.

The training will be given by Dr. Joanne Loewy and her team. Dr. Loewy is the Director of the Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine, and Associate Professor at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, US. A first impression of their work and results.

Instituted the first Sounds-Rhythm, Breath and Lullaby international training.

Dr. Andrew Rossetti, MMT, LCAT, Music therapist, Coordinator, music therapy in Radiology Oncology, Mount Sinai Βeth Israel Hospital & Louis Armstrong Center for Music and Medicine. He has developed several Environmental Music Therapy (EMT) programs globally. On the faculty at University in Barcelona, and at Montclair State University, NJ, US.
